Charlotte Le Bon is a vivacious French-Canadian actress and model
Charlotte Le Bon born at
Charlotte Le Bon was born on 4 September 1986 in Montreal to Richard Le Bon and Brigitte Paquette both of whom were movie stars. She had witnessed her parents running from pillar to post in the hope of getting prized roles and therefore did not aspire to become an actress. She can speak fluently in English and French.
Apart from being an actress, Charlotte is also a consummate artist and painter. She has organized several solo exhibitions and shows in Paris.
Charlotte Le Bon commenced her professional career in 2002 as a model when she was just a 16 year-old teenager. After representing a string of modeling agencies in Canada for three years in a row, she went abroad to make her presence felt in the global fashion circles. Following short spells in New York City and Tokyo she flew down to Paris, the Mecca of fashion designers and trendy boutiques, in 2011, and eventually made the city her home away from home.
Despite devoting eight years to modeling, she went on record by candidly admitting in numerous interview sessions with magazines and periodicals that she abhorred the profession. An opportunity to give a fresh lease of life to her career came her way in 2010. She was selected to feature as a weather presenter-cum-standup comedienne in the French TV channel Canal +’s popular talk show, ‘Le Grand Journal’.
Her melodramatic presentation and side-splitting antics in the TV program ‘Le Grand Journal’ based on current affairs and pop culture attracted the attention of big screen luminaries in France. She was offered short roles in French movies including ‘Impossible’ (2010) and ‘The Stroller Strategy’ (2012) where she featured as Marie Deville. She appeared in a brief role as the LifeMart saleswoman in the film ‘Le Gout du Temps’ in 2007 which incidentally was her debut movie.
In 2012, she bagged a prominent part in the French comedy film, ‘Asterix and Obelix: Save Britannia’ where she enacted the character of Ophelia. The 2013 saw Charlotte portraying the characters of Isis, Natacha, and Claire in the movies ‘Mood Indigo’, ‘The Big Bad Wolf’, and ‘The Marchers’ respectively. The year 2014 turned out to be immensely prospective for her as she received an invitation from the legendary film director, Steven Spielberg, to play the part of Marguerite in ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’.
‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’ was Charlotte’s first Hollywood film where she starred opposite renowned film personalities, such as Helen Mirren and Om Puri. She earned a Cesar Award nomination for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her poignant depiction of Victoire Doutreleau, the love interest of Yves Saint Laurent in the biopic based on the celebrated fashion-designer.
