Charlie Lenehan

Charlie Lenehan was born on 27 October 1998 in Gloucestershire, England. He lives with his mother, step-father, and two siblings. His mother is a cook in Thornbury at Gillingstool and New Siblands schools. Charlie attends the Winterbourne International Academy. He started displaying his musical talents when he was quite young and was asked to join a band by his schoolmates when he was 11. His teachers also encouraged his musical aspirations. As for his love life, he has been dating popular Instagrammer Chloe Lindsay since 2015.

Charlie Lenehan was just a young teen when he began his musical career. He was often appreciated for his singing talents at school and decided to take it further by posting his videos online. In 2013, he first met Devries, a fellow aspiring teen singer, on Facebook and the two boys soon met in person. They collaborated to form a music duo, Bars and Melody (B.A.M).

In early 2014, the duo auditioned for the eighth series of ‘Britain's Got Talent’ where they performed a song based on Twista and Faith Evans' ‘Hope,’ replacing the original lyrics with their own verses, protesting against bullying. Their performance impressed the judge Simon Cowell so much that he pressed the golden buzzer, sending them straight to the live semifinals. The boys managed to clear the semifinals and were placed third in the finals. Soon they signed a £500,000 record deal with Simon Cowell's record label, Syco, and released their debut single ‘Hopeful.’ The single debuted at No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart. Soon other singles followed which helped the boys establish a reputation as rising musical sensations.

In 2015, B.A.M released their debut album, ‘143,’ which peaked at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. To promote the album, the boys toured across the UK, the Netherlands, and Poland. Soon their album went platinum. They toured extensively in 2016 as well, performing in venues across London, Birmingham, and Glasgow, in the UK. They also went to Australia, Japan, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Some of their tours were in collaboration with fellow singers like Kiera Weathers and Lukas Rieger. The same year, their album ‘Teen Spirit,’ and their first Japanese album, ‘Hopeful,’ were also released.

Their second Japanese album, ‘Never Give Up,’ was released in February 2017. Along with their musical career, the boys have also appeared on many television shows, including ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ ‘Good Morning Britain,’ and ‘This Morning.’ Charlie and Leondre are also budding entrepreneurs and sell official B.A.M merchandise, such as bags, hoodies, notepads, mugs, and T-shirts. The guys are extremely popular on social media and boast of over 1.4 million followers on their B.A.M YouTube channel.
