Charles Melton was born on January 4, 1991, in Juneau, Alaska, to Phil and Sukyong Melton. He spent his childhood in Manhattan, Alaska. He has a sister named Tammie Milton.

He is of mixed ethnic origin. He has Korean, Cherokee, and Caucasian roots.

Charles attended ‘Kansas State University.’ He played football during his college days.

He dropped out after two years of college to pursue acting. He was discovered by the ‘Applause Rising Talent Showcase’ (ARTS) in Orlando, Florida.
