Carin van der Donk

Carin van der Donk is close to her sister Marjan. She considers her sister as her childhood hero and a great friend. Carin attends various charity events and anti-government protests. She currently lives with her husband and children in a townhouse at Gramercy Park in Manhattan. She is the stepmother of Leila George D'Onofrio, who was born from Vincent’s previous relationship with actress Greta Scacchi. Leila George, who is known for movies like ‘Mother, May I Sleep with Danger’ and ‘Mortal Engines,’ is currently pursuing a career in acting.

Carin van der Donk was born in 1970 in Netherlands. She was raised along with her older sister, Marjan van der Donk. Carin was always intrigued by the entertainment industry and wanted to be a part of the showbiz right from her childhood. After completing her education, Carin chose to become a model. She started her career by working for a couple of local brands. She was then signed by the famous hair salon brand, ‘Bumble and bumble,’ for which she shot a video commercial back in the early 90s. The commercial was shot in New York City, where she met Vincent D'Onofrio in 1996. After her marriage, Carin’s modeling career took a back seat, which allowed her to explore her photography skills. She currently works as an amateur photographer, often collaborating with her sister Marjan for a number of projects.

Carin van der Donk started dating Vincent D'Onofrio in 1996. The couple walked down the aisle on March 22, 1997. In December 1999, Vincent and Carin were blessed with a son, Elias Gene D'Onofrio. Carin’s marriage with Vincent came dangerously close to meeting its end in the year 2000, when the couple decided to go their separate ways. Though they announced that they have decided to split, Carin and Vincent did not cite the reason behind their decision. However, they visited each other often for the sake of their son Elias Gene. These frequent meetings gave them an opportunity to reconsider their decision, which eventually brought them back together. In 2008, Carin and Vincent were blessed with their second child, Luka. In January 2012, Vincent D'Onofrio expressed his frustration pertaining to conflicting and inaccurate reports on his marital status. Carin and Vincent have attended many red carpet events and movie premieres together. In 2003, Carin and Vincent were seen at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Daredevil.’ In 2008, Carin accompanied her husband to the ‘Tribeca Film Festival’ to watch the premiere show of ‘Speed Racer.’ On March 9, 2015, the couple was seen attending the premiere of ‘Run All Night’ at the famous ‘AMC Loews Lincoln Square’ in New York City.
