Brandon Flynn

Brandon Flynn came in support of the ‘LGBT’ community through an ‘Instagram’ post in September 2017. He started dating ‘Grammy Award’-winning English musician, Sam Smith around the same time but they split in June 2018.

He appreciates Donald Trump for his support toward the ‘LGBT’ community.

He stated once that he was often bullied in high school for acting feminine and thus, started taking prescribed drugs to the point of abusing them.

Brandon Flynn was born on October 11, 1993, in Miami, Florida. He is very close to his mother, Debbie Flynn.

He has two sisters, Jaime Flynn and Danielle Flynn. His grandmother’s name is Bubbe.

Brandon attended ‘New World School of the Arts’ in Miami, Florida. He graduated from ‘Mason Gross School of Arts’ from ‘Rutgers University,’ New Jersey, with a bachelor’s degree in ‘Fine Arts’ in 2016.

He was only ten when he got his first role. He played ‘Mr. Smee’ in a musical version of ‘Peter Pan.’

Before becoming a professional actor, Flynn worked a waiter at a ‘Shorty’s Barbecue’ joint in Miami to financially support himself. Flynn is Jewish.

Flynn started his career with commercials and stage performances. He played a reporter in ‘CWW's ‘FL Kidcare Health.’

He also played a ‘Principal’ in comedy series, ‘Sirens,’ followed by another appearance in ‘Lost and Gone Forever’ where he played ‘Sid.’ In 2016, he made his first on-screen appearance in American political satire sci-fi comedy drama, ‘BrainDead.’ He played ‘Mike the intern’ in the series.

In 2017, he appeared as himself in short films, ‘Home Movies,’ and ‘13 Reasons Why,’ a Netflix series. In the latter, Flynn portrayed ‘Justin Foley,’ a morally corrupt high school kid, who tries to improve after battling drug addiction and financial problems. The show is basically about the suicide of a high school girl who becomes emotionally unstable after she becomes the centre of attention in her school and is labeled as a ‘slut.’ Her suicide becomes the centre point of concern as she had recorded 13 tapes and named individuals responsible for her suicide. ‘Justin’ was one of the boys on her tape, and ‘Hannah’s first crush too.

Being one of the main characters of the show, ‘Justin Foley’ became Flynn’s breakthrough and established his acting career. In the same year, Flynn also appeared in off-Broadway production of musical, ‘Kid Victory,’ at the ‘Vineyard Theater.’

In 2018, he starred in the season 2 of ‘13 Reasons Why,’ which explores the other side of ‘Justin Foley.’ A son to a drug addict mother and a drug addict himself, ‘Justin’ feels guilty for ‘Hannah Baker’s suicide.

Brandon is also a well-established theater actor. He has appeared in more than10 plays in his acting career.

Apart from ‘Kid Victory,’ he has also appeared in plays, such as ‘Much Ado about Nothing’ and ‘The Crucible.’
