Hader studied at Cascia Hall Preparatory School, Patrick Henry Elementary School, and Edison Junior High. He later enrolled at The Art Institute of Phoenix and then went on to attend Scottsdale Community College.

Coming to his love life, the actor got married to fellow writer-director Maggie Carey in 2006. The couple had three daughters, Hannah Kathryn, Harper, and Hayley Clementine. They parted ways in 2017 and their divorce was finalized in March 2018.

In 1999, Bill Hader dropped out of his college and moved to Los Angeles. He began working as a production assistant and went on to work in the feature films ‘Spider-Man,’ ‘James Dean’ and ‘Collateral Damage.’ He also appeared in the documentary ‘Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy’ in 2004. He then served as a post-production assistant in the reality TV series ‘The Surreal Life’. Hader subsequently got the job of an assistant editor at Triage Entertainment.

He eventually became interested in comedy and formed a sketch comedy group along with Matt Offerman, Mel Cowan and Eric Filipkowski. Their group ‘Animals from the Future’ began performing at backyard shows in Van Nuys. After this, Hader started serving as an assistant editor in the American cooking show, ‘Iron Chef America.’

In 2005, while working on ‘Iron Chef America,’ Hader was hired as a featured player on ‘Saturday Night Live’. The following year, he made his film debut in the comedy ‘You, Me and Dupree’. Soon after this, he played a wide variety of roles in movies, including ‘Knocked Up,’ ‘The Brothers Solomon,’ ‘Hot Rod’ and ‘Superbad.’ Then in 2008, Hader did the films ‘Pineapple Express’, ‘Tropic Thunder’ and ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’. The same year, he appeared in four episodes of the comedy show ‘Human Giant’.

In 2009, the American artiste had voice roles in ‘Xavier: Renegade Angel’ and ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force’. Till date, Bill Hader has made numerous short films, including ‘Sounds Good to Me: Remastering the String,’ ‘The Jeannie Tate Show’ and ‘Back in the Day.’ He has been serving as a creative consultant as well as a producer on the sitcom ‘South Park’ since its 12th season. He has also been on MTV’s Punk'd. The American artiste has voiced an array of characters on the 2nd season of ‘Xavier: Renegade Angel’.
