Bill Hader

Bill Hader was born on June 7, 1978 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the USA to Sherri Renee, a dance teacher, and William Thomas Hader, a truck driver, restaurant manager and occasional stand-up comedian. He has two younger sisters, Kara and Katie.

Hader studied at Cascia Hall Preparatory School, Patrick Henry Elementary School, and Edison Junior High. He later enrolled at The Art Institute of Phoenix and then went on to attend Scottsdale Community College.

Coming to his love life, the actor got married to fellow writer-director Maggie Carey in 2006. The couple had three daughters, Hannah Kathryn, Harper, and Hayley Clementine. They parted ways in 2017 and their divorce was finalized in March 2018.

In 1999, Bill Hader dropped out of his college and moved to Los Angeles. He began working as a production assistant and went on to work in the feature films ‘Spider-Man,’ ‘James Dean’ and ‘Collateral Damage.’ He also appeared in the documentary ‘Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy’ in 2004. He then served as a post-production assistant in the reality TV series ‘The Surreal Life’. Hader subsequently got the job of an assistant editor at Triage Entertainment.

He eventually became interested in comedy and formed a sketch comedy group along with Matt Offerman, Mel Cowan and Eric Filipkowski. Their group ‘Animals from the Future’ began performing at backyard shows in Van Nuys. After this, Hader started serving as an assistant editor in the American cooking show, ‘Iron Chef America.’

In 2005, while working on ‘Iron Chef America,’ Hader was hired as a featured player on ‘Saturday Night Live’. The following year, he made his film debut in the comedy ‘You, Me and Dupree’. Soon after this, he played a wide variety of roles in movies, including ‘Knocked Up,’ ‘The Brothers Solomon,’ ‘Hot Rod’ and ‘Superbad.’ Then in 2008, Hader did the films ‘Pineapple Express’, ‘Tropic Thunder’ and ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’. The same year, he appeared in four episodes of the comedy show ‘Human Giant’.

In 2009, the American artiste had voice roles in ‘Xavier: Renegade Angel’ and ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force’. He also teamed up with other famous actors in the movies ‘Adventureland’, ‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian’, ‘Year One’ and ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’ the same year. Hader next provided a voiceover in the 2010 flick ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ and also began serving as a voice artist in ‘The Venture Bros’. Soon after this, he appeared as an athletic trainer in ‘Funny or Die Presents’.

From 2012 to 2014, the actor contributed to ‘Bob's Burgers’ and ‘The Mindy Project’. During this time, he also appeared in the films ‘Men in Black 3’ and ‘The Skeleton Twins’. Also in 2013, he began voicing Giuseppe Malocchio in the animated comedy series ‘The Awesomes’. Then in 2015, Hader had his first ever leading man role in the romantic-comedy movie ‘Trainwreck’. The same year, he lent his voice to the character of Fear in the Disney-Pixar film, ‘Inside Out’. He then did voice work for ‘The Angry Birds Movie’, ‘Finding Dory’ and ‘Power Rangers’. In 2018, Hader hosted an episode of ‘Saturday Night Live. ‘

Till date, Bill Hader has made numerous short films, including ‘Sounds Good to Me: Remastering the String,’ ‘The Jeannie Tate Show’ and ‘Back in the Day.’ He has been serving as a creative consultant as well as a producer on the sitcom ‘South Park’ since its 12th season. He has also been on MTV’s Punk'd. The American artiste has voiced an array of characters on the 2nd season of ‘Xavier: Renegade Angel’. He once co-penned a ‘Spider-Man’ one-off titled ‘The Short Halloween’.

In July 2008, Hader starred in the web series ‘The Line on Crackle’ that he also co-wrote. He did voice work for the audiobook of the famous author Sarah Vowell's ‘The Wordy Shipmates.’ On October 14, 2010, he played Kevin in the live episode of ‘30 Rock.’ Hader hosted the 2011 and 2012 seasons of TCM’s ‘Essentials, Jr’.

In 2013, he signed a contract with the snack food company, Planters, and replaced actor/singer Robert Downey, Jr. as Mr. Peanut. Two years later, he appeared as the captain of the 99th Precinct in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine.’ That year, the American actor also began working on IFC’s mockumentary series ‘Documentary Now’. He has also done voice work for YouTube channel Bad Lip Reading. In 2018, Hader created and began appearing in the series ‘Barry.’
