Ayla Kell was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 7, 1990, to Jane Kell. She has been dating the ‘17 Again’ star Sterling Knight since 2014.
Ayla Kell started learning ballet from her childhood and trained for fifteen years at the Royal Academy Dance and later at the Los Angeles Ballet Academy. She then participated in the Youth America Grand Prix in New York, where she earned the first place. She was later featured as a ballerina at Valentino's International Carousel in Tokyo as well. Apart from dancing, Kell has also appeared in several commercials for top brands like Sony, Disney, Pringles, and Mattel.
She made her debut in the show business in 1997, when she portrayed the character of ‘Young Barbara Mandrell’ in the television movie titled ‘Get to the Heart: The Barbara Mandrell Story’. She then made an appearance as a child artist in Rob Marcarelli’s directorial venture ‘The Omega Code’, a 1999 religious thriller film, portraying the character of ‘Maddie Lane’. In the next ten years, Kell went on to appear in two more films, ‘Rebound’ (playing the role of a cheerleader) and ‘What Just Happened’ (playing the character of ‘Mary’). In that same time period, she also appeared in several television shows like ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ as ‘Kylie’ (episode ‘Dewey's Special Class’), ‘Weeds’ as ‘Chelsea’ (episode ‘Lude Awakening’), ‘Without a Trace’ as ‘Young Mia Jones’ (episode ‘One and Only’), ‘Just Jordan’ as ‘Jade’ (episode ‘Cool Guys Don't Wear Periwinkle’), and ‘CSI: Miami’ as ‘Chelsea Marsh’ (episode ‘And How Does That Make You Kill?’)
Her big break came in 2009, when she was signed for the role of ‘Payson Keeler’ in the American teen/family comedy-drama television series ‘Make It or Break It’, also known as ‘MIOBI’. The show was created by Holly Sorensen and was based on a group of young aspiring gymnasts who strive to make it to the Olympic Games, the biggest stage for any athlete. She appeared in the show between 2009 and 2012, playing one of the lead characters alongside artists like Josie Loren, Cassie Scerbo, Neil Jackson, Susan Ward, Candace Cameron Bure, and Peri Gilpin.
In 2013 and 2014, she appeared in two television films titled ‘Missing at 17’ and ‘SnakeHead Swamp’, portraying the roles of ‘Candace’ and ‘Ashley’ respectively. In 2015, she appeared in films like ‘Rosemont’ as ‘Lisa’ and ‘Walt before Mickey’ as Bridget’.
