Austin Robert Carlile was born on September 27, 1987 in Pensacola, Florida, U.S. His father was a restaurant worker and his mother was a gardener. Carlile lost his mother when he was a teen. He attended Lehigh Senior High School and served as a sportsperson while studying there. In 2010, the American musician married Gielle Carlile. However, the couple split one year later.
Austin Carlile began his musical career with ‘Attack Attack!’ by joining the band in around 2006. He released the album ‘Someday Came Suddenly’ as the lead singer of the band in 2008. The same year, he left the band halfway while on a tour. After this, he joined ‘Of Mice & Men’ and the single ‘Seven Thousand Miles for What?’ came out as their first release. In the year 2010, the band released its self-titled debut album. The same year, Carlile had a major heart surgery due to which he was unable to tour with the band. This in turn called for his substitute and he was replaced with Jerry Roush who later on became the permanent tour replacement for the singer.
The following year, on January 3, 2011 Carlile re-joined the band. During that year, Carlile, along with his band mates, released the second album ‘The Flood’ which was followed by other two studio albums, ‘Restoring Force’ (2014) and ‘Cold World’ (2016) respectively. In 2016, the American singer announced his departure from ‘Of Mice & Men’ due to his diagnosis with a rare genetic disorder named Marfan syndrome. After Carlile’s departure from the band, he went on to become a baseball coach in Costa Rica.
In 2013, Carlile was arrested in Ohio along with drum technician Loniel Robinson II. He was then charged with felonious assault. The singer was released on bail afterwards. Later on, his charge of felonious assault was changed to misdemeanor assault and he was found guilty for the same. As a result of this, Carlile was fined with $1,000 plus court expenses. However, the fine of $800 was suspended later on.
