Ashley Thompson

Ashley Thompson was born Louisa Ashley Thompson in 1974 in Memphis, Tennessee. Her father, Bill Thompson, was an investment banker and a commercial real estate developer. Her mother, Marsha Thompson, was a homemaker. She has an older sister named Allison and a younger brother named Will. She also has a younger sister named Leigh.

Ashley was a bright student throughout her school and college days. She used to actively participate in cultural events and fundraising campaigns, which were organized by her school. During her junior school days, she participated in a program called ‘Service Over Self.’ It was a weekly program that aimed at renovating and repairing homes located at the residential area in Memphis. Every summer, students were asked to work along with their respective family members in order to renovate damaged homes.

Ashley also worked for many charity campaigns. As a part of community service, she used to educate young boys and girls on various subjects by visiting local clubs on Saturdays. Her outstanding philanthropy works and her involvement in different community services made her a member of the prestigious ‘Ascensus Society.’

She was once honored for collecting the highest amount for a charity event. Instead of keeping the prize, she gave it to a fellow campaign member and in return struck a deal with the member, flaunting her excellent marketing and selling skills. She was also an ardent participant in the ‘Girl Scout Cookie Program’ and had managed to win several ‘Cookie Rewards’ in a row.

In 1997, Ashley graduated from the ‘University of Virginia’ with a major in ‘Finance and Marketing.’ She then started her career in real estate development. During the initial days of her career, she built three spec homes in Tennessee. At present, her real estate development company is doing extremely well and she is planning to expand her business to Indianapolis as well. She is currently working on a downtown residential development plan in Indianapolis.

Ashley is married to her childhood sweetheart Peyton Manning, who is a former ‘National Football League’ player. They were introduced to each other by one of Ashley’s neighbors when they both were in college. Ashley and Peyton started spending time with each other, and after years of dating, they finally got married on March 17, 2001 in Memphis. Peyton and Ashley welcomed their twins, a son and a daughter, on March 31, 2011. While they named their son Marshall Williams Manning, their daughter was named Mosley Thompson Manning.

Ashley and Peyton have been involved in many charity programs, including the establishment of ‘PeyBack Foundation,’ which strives towards providing leadership and growth opportunities to young men and women. Ashley has also organized many breast cancer awareness programs. She is one of the owners of the Memphis based professional basketball team ‘Memphis Grizzlies.’

The Manning couple was accused of possessing and dealing with performance-enhancing drugs. A documentary by ‘Al Jazeera’ suggested that Peyton was involved in buying and selling of illegal drugs. It was claimed that he had used Ashley’s name while going about his illegal transactions. The documentary also displayed how Ashley has always been supportive towards Peyton in all his endeavors. When the documentary was aired, Ashley produced documents suggesting the drug was prescribed to her husband and that he is not guilty. However, the case is still open and the final verdict is pending.

An online rumor suggested that Peyton was cheating on Ashley and that their marriage was in trouble. The rumor was later proved to be false when Peyton and Ashley made several public appearances. Peyton no longer plays football due to declining health. It was Ashley who advised him to retire, a decision which turned out to be wise.
