Armand Assante was born as Armand Anthony Assante on October 4, 1949 in New York City, New York, USA, to Katharine and Armand James Assante. He studied at Cornwall Central High School. The actor was married to Karen McArn from 1982 to 1994. The couple has two daughters named Anya and Alesandra.
Armand Assante first appeared in the 1974 flick ‘The Lords of Flatbush’. In 1974 and 1975, he also appeared in the drama series ‘How to Survive a Marriage’. After this, he starred in the series ‘The Doctors’. In 1978, the actor did the film ‘Paradise Alley’ as well as the TV movie ‘The Pirate’. Soon after this, he appeared in the movies ‘Prophecy’, ‘Little Darlings’ and ‘Private Benjamin’.
From 1982 to 1989, Assante did numerous TV and film projects including ‘Love and Money’, ‘Unfaithfully Yours’, ‘The Penitent’, ‘Eternity’, ‘Q&A’, ‘Passion and Paradise’, ‘Rage of Angels’, ‘Napoleon and Josephine: A Love Story’ and ‘Jack the Ripper’. Then in 1991, he had a role in the film ‘The Marrying Man’. Two years later, he did the flick ‘Fatal Instinct’.
Assante was cast as John Gotti in the miniseries ‘Gotti’ in 1996. The following year, he appeared in the miniseries ‘The Odyssey’. Then from 2000 to 2010, the American artist appeared in a number of films, TV films, and series including 'The Road to El Dorado', 'One Eyed King', 'Mirror Wars', 'Funny Money', 'Surveillance', 'American Gangster', 'Breaking Point', 'The Bleeding', ‘On the Beach’, ‘Shark Swarm’, ‘ER’, ‘NCIS’, ‘October Road’ and ‘Chuck’. After this, he played minor roles in the movies ‘The Return of Joe Rich', 'Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn’ and 'Kids vs Monsters'. Assante portrayed Joseph Cortez in the film ‘The Red Maple Leaf’ in 2016. A year later, he got featured in the movies ‘The Neighborhood’ and ‘Diamond Cartel’.
