Anthony David “Ant” McPartlin was born on 18 November 1975 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, to parents Christine Woodhall and Raymond McPartlin. He has a sister named Sarha as well as a half-sister named Emma. McPartlin attended Wingrove Primary School.
Coming to his love life, he married his longtime girlfriend Lisa Armstrong (a popular make-up artist) on 22 July 2006. McPartlin and his co-star Donnelly are also well-known for their involvement with charities. Both are associated with ‘Sunshine Fund’ and ‘ChildLine’. The duo opened ‘W4 Youth Centre’ in the year 2013.
Anthony McPartlin’s first appearance on TV was on the kid’s workshop series ‘Why Don't You?’ After this, he appeared on the Children's BBC programme ‘Byker Grove’ that catapulted him to prominence. In 1994, he did ‘The Cinder Path’ followed by ‘The Ant & Dec Show’ the next year. Then in 1998, the British TV presenter presented ‘Ant & Dec Unzipped’. The same year, he presented ‘SMTV Live’ and ‘CD: UK’. The following year, McPartlin was offered ‘Friends Like These’. This British game show was hosted by him till 2001.
During 2001 and 2002, McPartlin did a lot of TV projects including ‘BRIT Awards’, ‘Slap Bang with Ant & Dec’, ‘Pop Idol’, ‘Engie Benjy’, ‘Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?’, ‘Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway’ and ‘I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!’. Then in 2005, he presented ‘Ant & Dec's Gameshow Marathon’ followed by ‘Soccer Aid’ and ‘PokerFace’ the following year. McPartlin gained worldwide recognition in the year 2007 when he started hosting ‘Britain's Got Talent’. Two years later, he was offered another TV show ‘Ant & Dec's Christmas Show’. In 2011, he was cast as a presenter for two shows, namely ‘Red or Black?’ and ‘Text Santa’ respectively. Then, the television presenter hosted ‘The Prince's Trust’ in 2016. He is currently presenting ‘Britain's Got Talent’, ‘I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!’, ‘Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway’ and ‘Text Santa’.
Recently, Anthony McPartlin got himself checked into a rehab for drug addiction. It was revealed that the TV presenter had become addicted to prescription drugs after a botched knee surgery left him in pain. This news brought McPartlin to limelight, leaving his fans and followers in utter shock.
