Despite being married to successful actor and comedian Ray Romano, Anna Romano spends most of her time away from the limelight. Anna, who previously worked as a banker in Queens, New York, is often credited for supporting her husband in his acting ventures. She has also made a short appearance as one of the mothers in the background in one episode of her husband's hit television show, 'Everybody Loves Raymond'. She has acted on the short film 'Quand s'approfondit l'hiver' in 2010. Apart from that, she has been credited as a cinematographer for the short film 'Because She’s Worth It' in 2012 and for one episode of the television series 'Class' in 2015.
Anna Romano was born as Anna M. Scarpulla on February 24, 1963 in New York City, New York, United States.
Anna Romano became acquainted with her future husband, Ray Romano, in 1982, long before he made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. At the time, both of them worked at the Williamsburg Savings Bank in Queens, New York. Prior to Anna, Ray reportedly had asked out two of their other co-workers who had turned him down. She was the first woman who said 'yes', and they subsequently began dating. The couple later got married on October 11, 1987. Anna gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Alexandra Romano, in 1990. The couple then welcomed twin sons, Matt and Gregory, in 1993, followed by another son, Joseph Raymond Romano, who was born on February 16, 1998. All their children are interested in acting, with the eldest three already working in the field. Her daughter, Alexandra, and son, Gregory, have appeared on their father's show 'Everybody Loves Raymond'. Both Matt and Gregory did voice acting on the 2006 film 'Ice Age: The Meltdown' from the 'Ice Age' series, in which their father voiced one of the lead characters, Manny the Woolly Mammoth. Alexandra has also lent voice to a character in 'Ice Age: Continental Drift' (2012).
Anna and Ray have successfully completed over three decades of togetherness, which is why Ray Romano is often asked by media outlets to share the secret of a successful marriage. He had told US Weekly in 2012 that he was happy to marry someone who was far removed from show biz. Ray is known for quipping about how bossy his wife is, and often jokes about their relationship in the media. Anna got the perfect chance to get back to him when his golf coach, Steve DiMarco, offered to teach her golf as part of 'The Haney Project' in 2010. She reluctantly agreed to go with it and was glad to realize how much she enjoyed it. She even quipped about how she could now tag along with her husband during his private golf sessions to get on his nerves.
