Anna Kooiman was born on February 7, 1984, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Wally Kooiman and Susan Kooiman. Her parents own businesses like Southeast Oasis Pool and the Peppermint Forest Christmas Shop in Charlotte. She is of Dutch ancestry, and has a brother, Michael Kooiman.
Anna attended Myers Park High School, graduating in 2002 before joining the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She was good at softball and also played with the SouthPark Youth Association.
She married Australian native Tim Stuckey on July 31, 2015 at Manhattan's Central Park Loeb Boathouse, after dating him for three years. Soon after her marriage, she left Fox Channel, and moved to Sydney where Stuckey landed a new job with the financial firm Tullet Prebon.
Anna Kooiman started working as a TV broadcast journalist in 2004, by taking up a job as a sideline reporter for Fox Sports during her college days at University of North Carolina Wilmington. After graduation, she continued to work as a reporter, anchor and video journalist for WWAY in Wilmington, North Carolina. In 2007, she moved to Toledo, Ohio, and worked as the morning anchor and reporter for WNWO, a local NBC affiliate. There she also worked as a franchise reporter for a partnership with US Marshals that helped to arrest over 100 fugitives.
In May 2008, she moved to Charlotte, and worked as an anchor/reporter/host for Fox News Rising, a four-hour news and entertainment show on then Fox affiliate WCCB. At WCCB-TV, she reported on local news, entertainment stories, weather and traffic.
AFAA and Turbo Kick Certified, she also worked as a fitness instructor in Charlotte in August 2008. She served as a fitness instructor for kids in an inner-city after-school program as well.
In December 2011, she joined Fox News Channel as the New York-based correspondent. She reported on health, fitness, and general issues. She was also the host on the weekend edition of Fox Channel's ‘Fox & Friends.’ She covered the Fox debates for the GOP primary in Detroit, and hosted Fox News Extra segments.
She hosted the All American New Year for Fox Channel as well. Her show, ‘Roadtrip with Anna Kooiman’ took viewers to different places in the United States, while checking bucket list items. She anchored and contributed to several New Year’s Eve specials aired internationally on Fox News Channel. She has won two NC Associated Press Awards.
