Anjelah Johnson was born as Anjelah Nicole Johnson on May 14, 1982, in San Jose, California, USA to devout Christian parents. She has four siblings including Kennie and Veronica Johnson. She started acting in high school and later attended De Anza College to study speech communications. In 2002, Johnson became a part of Oakland Raiders as a cheerleader and performed during Super Bowl XXXVII. On June 11, 2011, the actress cum comedian married Manwell Reyes in Half Moon Bay, California. She once stated that she and her husband do not want children. They love spending time with their nephews and nieces.
Anjelah Johnson made her acting debut in 2006 by appearing in the series ‘Love, Inc’. The following year, she appeared in the flick ‘The Box’. She also joined the team of the comedy show ‘MADtv’ the same year. Then Johnson appeared in ‘Comedy Central’ in 2009. A year later, she got featured in the series ‘Ugly Betty’ and the show ‘Lopez Tonight’. During that time, she also acted in the movie ‘Our Family Wedding’ as well as did voice work for ‘Marmaduke’.
After this, Johnson appeared in music videos for the tracks ‘I'm A Cut You’ and ‘No Boyfren feat. Tammy’. She then became a spokesperson for Taco Cabana, a Mexican restaurant in 2011. Soon after this, Johnson became a spokesperson for ‘Don't be an S.O.V.’ campaign led by the country’s biggest van pooling company vRide. In 2014, she acted in the flick ‘Moms' Night Out’ and also worked as a voice actress for the movie ‘The Book of Life’. Three years later, the American star was cast as Kelly Richardson in the film ‘The Resurrection of Gavin Stone’.
