Ana Cabrera started her career as an intern for NBC affiliate KHQ-TV and ABC affiliate KMGH-TV. At KMGH-TV, she covered local and national news including the 2012 Denver Presidential Debate and the Aurora movie theatre shooting. From 2005 to 2009, she served as a reporter and anchor for NBC affiliate KHQ-TV as well as FOX affiliate KAYU-TV.

In 2013, Cabrera joined CNN as a correspondent. Then she became a part of the CNN Investigative team. Since joining the network, the American journalist has reported on several major issues including Colorado's legalization of marijuana for recreational use and the Arapahoe High School shooting. She also reported on the September 2013 floods.
