Amanda Boyd is the ex-wife of golfer Jason Dufner
Not much is known about early life and family of this stunning diva who hails from the US state of Alabama except that she studied at the University of Alabama and completed her graduation from there in 2010. Once a celebrity wife and then a speculated celebrity mistress, Amanda has moved on in her life as did the two men.
Amanda was introduced to Dufner through a mutual friend at Auburn in 2009. At that time Dufner was already a professional golfer who had won two Web.com Tour wins, namely the Buy.com Wichita Open in 2001 and the LaSalle Bank Open in 2006, while Amanda was studying in college. In no time the two started dating each other. Mentioning about their courtship, EastAlabamaLiving.com said “Their first date went well, but with Dufner’s hectic schedule, he pretty much kissed her goodnight and disappeared. He did call often, and the two had long conversations, but they did not actually see each other again until both just happened to be in New Orleans for New Year’s Eve. From then on, they were inseparable.” After a couple of years on July 4, 2011, while the lovebirds were enjoying their weekend lunch together at New York City, Dufner proposed Amanda in a very special way. Talking about this Amanda later revealed “We were watching the fireworks over the river and when I turned around, Jason was on one knee. I don’t really remember much after that”.
Amanda and Dufner tied the knot on May 5, 2012, which, however, astonished many of Dufner fans as they probably didn’t expect the more placid and laid-back golfer to choose the sexy and bold diva as his wife. The couple garnered popularity in a flash, especially following Dufner‘s win of the 2013 PGA Championship, PGA Tour where they were often seen holding each other’s hands.
The couple unfortunately hit a rough patch that resulted in their divorce in early 2015. The reason, according to their divorce settlement revealed in March 2015, was “Irretrievable breakdown of the marriage.” It was also mentioned in the settlement note that “a complete incompatibility of temperament that the parties can no longer live together.” According to their divorce settlement Amanda received around $3 million, a Mercedes SUV and the couple’s French bulldog Prince Louie. Following the divorce, Amanda deleted the Instagram account where she used to post adorable pictures of her with Dufner. She, however, maintains an Instagram account ‘louiedufner’ for Prince Louie which has already garnered more than 8 K followers.
A few months after split of Amanda and Dufner made the headlines, rumours of Woods’s affair with Amanda leading to her divorce with Dufner started getting flashed in the American supermarket tabloid ‘National Enquirer’. An undisclosed source told the tabloid that “Even though Tiger dated Lindsey for years, he had a “thing” for Amanda.” One of the insiders also spilled the beans saying “Amanda is gorgeous, and she’s known as a big flirt with the other players on the PGA tour, I guess her flirty ways and good looks caught Tiger’s eye.” The tabloid also mentioned that Wood began an affair with Amanda while he was in a relationship with Lindsey Vonn. According to the May 2015 issue of Daily Mail Online, Lindsey dumped Woods after catching him cheating her in February that year while the Farmers Insurance Open was going on. This was just a week prior to Amanda’s separation with Dufner. It was also speculated that Amanda was flown to Chambers Bay in Seattle by Tiger as he started preparing for the US Open.
Although rumours of Woods having a ‘steamy affair’ with Amanda did the rounds, his agent Mark Steinberg strongly brushed off such allegations. He told the high-end weekly golfing magazine ‘Golfweek’ that “I couldn’t deny this more vehemently. There is less than zero strand of truth to it. 100 percent false. 100 percent fabricated and zero credence. Absolutely, unequivocally untrue. They are not even acquaintances. It’s absolutely ridiculous.” However the rumours continued to buzz around more so as Amanda spent $675,000 from her divorce settlement amount to acquire a three-bedroom, three-bathroom, 3000 sq.ft. mansion in Jupiter, Florida that is just a few miles from Woods’ palatial estate. While Woods at no time admitted to such alleged relationship with Amanda, the latter remained silent on the matter.
