Alexia Barroso

Alexia was born in 1999 in Miami. She has three half-sisters, Isabella (born June 2006), Gia Zavala (born August 2008), and Stella Zavala (born October 2010). The family previously lived in Miami and New York before moving to Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles in 2012.

Alexia’s mother’s marriage to one of the highest grossing actors of all time has brought them a sense of financial security that they had never known before. Both of her biological parents are immigrants from the working class background. For a hundred years and more, the city of Miami has served as the figurative doorway to the United States of America for millions of downtrodden Latin Americans leaving their homes in search of a better life and happiness, and Alexia’s father and mother were no different.

Even when their marriage began to deteriorate, they worked tirelessly to provide Alexia a good home and everything else she might need to fulfil her own American Dream. They still share a healthy relationship after all these years, as can be made out from Arbello’s rare interviews. He has nothing but praises for Luciana as a mother and Damon as a stepfather. He is incredibly proud of the amazing young woman his daughter has become.

Despite all the changes that have occurred in the lives of Alexia and her mother since 2005, they lead a normal, average life. Granted she now has opportunities she might not have had otherwise—like attending a progressive private school—but as a family they are sensible, and as Damon described in an interview with ‘The Guardian,’ “Boring”. Damon himself is an incredibly private person; he does not need to be under the limelight all the time, unlike many of his friends in Hollywood. He married Luciana on December 9, 2005 at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau in New York City in a ceremony attended by only a few.

Alexia was present when her parents renewed their vows in 2013. Comedian and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel officiated the ceremony. Alexia shares a strong bond with her stepfather. He taught her how to drive, and in 2017, she was seen with him touring the American University campus.

She got her first experience in acting in the family drama ‘We Bought a Zoo,’ released in 2011. She played a zoo staff in the Cameron Crowe directorial venture, which also starred Damon, Scarlett Johansson, and Thomas Haden Church. Will she follow her stepfather’s footsteps into stardom? Only time will tell!
