When Alex was 12, his brother Tom, who was 21, died due to alcohol poisoning. Alex loved his brother a lot, and made a tattoo on his left hand—a rose—dedicated to him. He had also phrased 'Rest in peace Tom' in one of his band's music videos, which was released in May 2017. In his brother’s memory, he penned a song ‘Lullabies’, and another, ‘Therapy’ on All Time Low's album ‘Nothing Personal.’
