Later, she got married to rock star Rod Stewart, in 1997. They have a daughter named Kimberly and a son named Sean, both of whom are into the show business. Alana divorced Rod Stewart in 1984, when she found out that he was having an affair with a model 15 years younger than her. The breakup had a deep impact on her life, as she always felt that they were a perfect couple. Hence, she decided to retain the surname and did not have any affairs since her separation.

Her ex-husband, George Hamilton, helped her cope with depression by sending her to well-known author Deepak Chopra, who changed her life by introducing her to meditation. She realized the long-term effect of drugs on her life and gave up her vices. She started going to church and began believing in God. She now believes that the only cure to depression is to forgive and forget and get on with life.

Alana Stewart was born as Alana Kaye Collins on May 18, 1945, in San Diego, California, US. She came from a not-so-well-to-do family and had a father who was addicted to drugs. She spent the early part of her life in a small city in East Texas, called Nacogdoches. Later, she moved to Houston, before finally moving to New York to become a model. She graduated from ‘Stephen F. Austin High School,’ Houston, Texas.

During her early career, she signed with ‘Ford Models’ and went to Los Angeles to appear in a number of TV commercials. Later, she moved to New York to pursue a career in acting and modeling.
