Adrien Broner is not into any romantic relationship and nothing is known about his personal life as well.
In October 2016, Broner posted images and captions on his social media platform that hinted at suicide.
Broner has been arrested a couple of times. His last was on February 2018 when he was charged of misdemeanor sexual battery but was released on bail.
Adrien Broner was born on July 28, 1989 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Thomas Knight and Dorothy Broner.
By the time Broner turned six, he was drawn to boxing. His passion for the sport only augmented over the years. His mother was extremely supportive and happy at thought that he had channelized the aggressive streak in the right direction.
Interestingly, when kids of his age were involved in criminal activities, common in those days then, Broner concentrated on boxing. Today, he credits boxing for keeping him away from criminal practices.
Adrien Broner made his breakthrough as a professional boxer on May 31, 2008. It was indeed a dream start for young Broner who scored three consecutive first-round knockouts against Allante Davis, David Warren Huffman and Ramon Flores, respetcively. In his fourth match, against Terrance Jett, he won the fight in the sixth round and ended the year with a no-contest decision against Eric Ricker.
His career gained greater heights in the next couple of years as Broner won important matches against tough opponents. Some of the boxers he played against were Jose Alfredo Lugo, Eric Ricker and Angel Rodriguez.
By the end of 2010, Broner had played against Rafael Lora, Carlos Claudio, Guillermo Sanchez, and Ilido Julio, winning against all. All through the year, he played Tommy Atencio for nearly 13 times, stopping the latter in the first round itself for six times.
Broner’s career meteorically surged upwards after his fight against former Super Bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce de León on March 5, 2011. It was a close match between the two tough players, each proving stronger than the other. By the end of it, though the match was ruled in Broner’s favour, the unanimous decision was contested and became highly controversial.
After his contentious victory against Ponce de León, Broner’s next fight was a highly publicised one, against Top 10 Super Featherweight contender’s Jason Litzau on HBO’s ‘Boxing After Dark’ show. In the first round itself, Broner won the match, after thumping some hard hit punches on the Minnesotan.
Broner has won four world championships in four different weight classes which reflect his talent as a boxer. He has held the WBC Junior Lightweight Champion, the WBC Lightweight Title, WBC Welterweight Title and WBA Light Welterweight title.
