Personal Life

In June 1995, when Adam was an 11-year-old, he met with a severe road accident. While he was crossing the road with his bike in Omaha, he was hit by a 42 ton cement truck. He went under the rear wheels and slid 500 feet. Since his bike was on his right side, it took the full force of the impact and saved him from being killed instantly. He was immediately rushed to a hospital where he went into a coma. Although he came out of the coma after two weeks, his legs and a lung were badly damaged. Over the course of several years, he had 26 surgeries, and at one time he was at the risk of having his legs amputated. He patiently went through all the surgeries and other treatments, and finally came out victorious.

When he rejoined school, he was bullied for the scars on his legs. However, he cracked jokes to divert the attention away from his scars. This made him realize that comedy not only had the ability to entertain people but could also bring them together.
