Arkin got married twice. He first got married to Linda, with whom he has a daughter by name Molly. Later, he got married in the year 1999 to Phyllis Anne. Arkin and Phyllis have a son and a daughter. The duo got separated in August 2013.
Adam Arkin was born on 19 August 1956, at Brooklyn, New York, to acclaimed Hollywood actor Alan Arkin and his wife Jeremy Staffe. Adam has two siblings named Anthony and Mathew Arkin, Adam was the eldest of three. Both his brothers are also actors.
In 1975, when he was hardly 20 years old, Arkin made his acting debut by doing a cameo appearance in one of the episodes of the award winning television show ‘Happy Days’.
In 1977, Arkin got his first significant role in an American television comedy series called ‘Busting Loose’. Arkin played the character of a young man who faces interesting situations after he chooses to stay alone, away from his parents.
His other important television appearance was in the television series ‘The Twilight Zone’. This science fiction fantasy show which was aired in 1985, ran successfully for two seasons.
Arkin was next a part of the successful television show ‘Northern Exposure’, where he played the role of a short-tempered, barefooted chef by name ‘Adam’. This show ran successfully for five years, starting from 1990 till 1995.
Arkin also starred in the medical drama series ‘Chicago Hope’ which was aired on TV from 1994 to 2000. Arkin played the role of Dr Aaron Schutt in this show.
In 1999, Arkin was seen playing the role of a trauma specialist and psychiatrist by name Stanley Keyworth in the television series ‘The West Wing’.
In an interview with an online source, Arkin had revealed that he is mainly recognized for his role in ‘Sons of Anarchy’. In this 2009 TV series, Arkin portrayed the role of the antagonist ‘Ethan Zobelle’. This role of Arkin’s was very well acclaimed.
Arkin is also well recognized for his role in the popular 2005 movie ‘Hitch’. This movie is also well known for the man who played the lead role, Will Smith, one of the most famous faces of Hollywood.
