She got married to Andrew Pruett in 2004. In 2008, they had a son whom they named Roman. In 2012, Spencer filed for divorce.

Abigail Leigh Spencer was born on 4th August 1981 in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Her parents are Yancy Spencer III, a professional surfer, and Lydia Ann. They have two other children, Yancy Spencer IV and Sterling Spencer. Abigail was raised in her hometown.

Abigail Spencer made her acting debut in 1999, in the soap opera ‘All My Children’. She played the role of Becca for nearly two years. Her performance won her the ‘Soap Opera Digest Award’ for Outstanding Newcomer.

She made her film debut in 2001 in the movie 'Campfire Stories'. Over the next few years she appeared in some other movies, as well as played guest roles in TV shows such as 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' and 'Killer Instinct.' In 2006, she played the lead role in the TV series 'Angela's Eyes'. The show was cancelled after one season.

‘Cowboys and Aliens’, a 2011 American sci-fi film, is one of the most significant movies in Abigail Spencer’s career. The movie, directed by Jon Favreau, tells the story of three people who attempt to save the people of a town from aliens. The film is based on a graphic novel of the same name by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. The cast included Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Paul Dano and Clancy Brown. Spencer portrayed a former lover of the lead character Jake, played by Craig.

She played an important role in the 2012 biographical drama film ‘Chasing Mavericks’. Directed by Curtis Hanson and Michael Apted, the film was about American surfer Jay Moriarity.
