The Giants kept the powerful Blades at bay for the first two periods, but eventually Saskatoon was able to score twice in the final frame to defeat Vancouver 2-1 at the Langley Events Center on Saturday night.

“There were a lot of good things in the first two halves, I felt we played right, didn’t find a way to win,” head coach Michael Dyck said in an interview with Sportsnet650 after the game.

VAN: Ty Thorpe scooped a rebound 13:51 into the second period on the power play.

3rd period:

SAS: Jayden Wiens leveled the game with a 9:43 powerplay goal of his own in the third half after a rebound from the endboards.

SAS: Connor Roulette buried the winner at 6:30 to enter the game with a skillful play off the side of the net.
