Three men were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in a parking lot in the 10800 block of Beechnut Street on Sunday morning, following a “person down” call to the Houston Police Department. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, but no one has come forward to provide further information. The parking lot was full at the time, and there were several businesses open in the shopping center, including a nightclub. The police have begun investigating and looking for surveillance footage but are unsure why there have been multiple incidents of crime at the shopping center. The Houston Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact their homicide division or Crime Stoppers.
3 Dead in Alief Parking Lot Shooting Early Sunday: Houston Police Department
The Houston Police Department responded to a “person down” call on Sunday morning and found three men dead, all with multiple gunshot wounds, in the 10800 block of Beechnut Street. According to Houston Police assistant chief Chandra Hatcher, police received the call around 5:50 a.m., and when they arrived, there were several cars in and around the parking lot, but they all sped off when officers arrived.
Hatcher said that the parking lot was full and several businesses in the shopping center, including a nightclub, were open, but it is unknown if the shooting is related to patrons who might have been there. Officers found several shell casings on the ground and began canvassing the area and looking for surveillance footage early Sunday. However, Hatcher said that witnesses have not said anything about seeing anything that occurred or anyone that was involved.
“We don’t know what occurred and we don’t know the history behind the complainants in this incident and the suspect,” Hatcher said. “We will just have to do more investigating to find out exactly what contributed to this incident.”
Hatcher added that law enforcement is unsure why there have been multiple incidents of crime at the shopping center but that police do not believe the public is in danger. She also urged anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department’s homicide division or Crime Stoppers.
The shooting is still a developing story, and updates will be provided as they become available.
