SHARE’s Imagine Gala 2023 is themed “A Tri-Cities Night Out” and pays tribute to the community’s support.
You have the chance to win a round-trip WestJet ticket—or a two-night stay at a waterfront hotel—in a silent auction for SHARE Family and Community Services.
The online fundraiser, which went live on Friday (17 February), is part of the charity’s annual Imagine Gala, which will be held in Coquitlam next month.
The gala, titled “A Tri-Cities Night Out,” also includes a 50-50 drawing for which tickets are available now through the charity’s website. On Friday the jackpot was $1,300.
Claire MacLean, Managing Director of SHARE, said the gala theme is designed to invite guests to “a night on the town,” with bright lights, music and well-known local street names dotted around the space.
“It really is a nod to how much this community supports and is involved with SHARE. The gala celebrates the best that the Tri-Cities has to offer – in one place,” she said Tri City News.
SHARE Community Engagement Manager Darcel Moro said the evening will feature food from Pasta Polo, Orrange, The Golden Boot, Cassandra Cake Co. and Donut Love.
And guests can burn off the calories by dancing to energetic music by DJ TDM.
Organizers of the unique fundraiser hope to raise $140,000 for SHARE’s services.
This includes the Tafel, but also help for refugees, children and young people with developmental delays and disabilities, addicts and school bullies.
Though COVID-19 restrictions are over, MacLean said the need for help is greater than ever as many residents grapple with the worsening financial and psychological impact of the pandemic. Last Christmas was a record for the number of food baskets delivered.
“But as great as the need is, we also need to find joy and light and thank our community for helping us. Amazing things happen out there every day,” MacLean said.
In addition to the flight and the hotel, other prices are available at the silent online auction:
- Predator Ridge Stay N’ Play package for one night and one round of golf for four
- Two separate private cooking experiences by Fred Soofi from Pasta Polo and Chef Mark from Crisp Cuisine
- Tickets for the Vancouver Whitecaps, Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Canadians and BC Lions
- IKEA closet system
The Imagine Gala is an adults-only event scheduled to take place on March 4th from 7pm to 11:30pm at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver (2080 United Blvd.).
