“Google Pixel Watch Receives Major Update for February 2023”
Your Pixel phone isn’t the only one getting an update
Like clockwork, Google rolled out the February 2023 security patch for Pixel phones on the first Monday of the month. This month’s update is relatively minor, fixing bugs related to clear calling and Bluetooth instability, along with some security fixes. Last month, the big G released the January 2023 security patch for the Pixel Watch, a week after the update launched for Pixel phones. This time around, the company does better, going live with February 2023 firmware at the same time as its Pixel phones.

Google’s changelog for the latest Pixel Watch update is brief and does not indicate any significant bug fixes, changes, or feature enhancements. For the fixed security issues, see the February 2023 Security Bulletin.
The February 2023 software update includes the latest security patches for Pixel Watch users.
Interestingly, the latest update still doesn’t enable fall detection on the Pixel Watch. The feature was set to launch in the US in early 2023 during the winter, with fall detection also making its appearance for some Pixel Watch users earlier in the year. The company now only has a few weeks to meet the promised deadline for the rollout.
As for the February 2023 security patch, Google is releasing it gradually and it may take up to a week for it to appear on your watch. If you can’t wait that long, force the update to download by going to Settings > System > System updates and repeatedly tap the “Your watch is up to date” screen.
When the Pixel Watch launched, Google didn’t make it clear if it would get monthly updates like Pixel phones. However, as this is the third month in a row that the smartwatch has received a new software build, it will likely be the norm.
