A total of 84.43% of registered candidates took the State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) at 21 centres in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The examination was conducted smoothly without any issues, with all examinees required to produce a photo identity proof upon entry to the centre. The SET is a qualifying examination for the post of assistant professor in senior colleges and university departments in relevant subjects. The examination consisted of two papers, with a total of 1.19 lakh candidates registered across the state in 32 subjects. Those who successfully qualify the SET become eligible for assistant professorship in their relevant subjects.
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 84.43% of registered candidates took the State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The examination was held in 21 centres in the city, with a total of 7,788 candidates present and 1,448 absent. Dr Satish Dandge, the divisional coordinator of SET, confirmed that the examination was conducted smoothly without any issues of barring latecomers. All examinees were required to produce a photo identity proof upon entry to the centre.
The SET is a qualifying examination for the post of assistant professor in senior colleges and university departments in relevant subjects. The examination consisted of two papers, held in two sessions. The first paper had 50 multiple-choice questions worth 100 marks, while the second paper had 100 questions worth 200 marks. There were 1.19 lakh candidates registered for the examination across the state in 32 subjects, including Marathi, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, history, economics, sociology, political science, library and information science, journalism and mass communication, public administration, environmental science, and chemistry.
The examination was held in various colleges, including Maulana Azad College, Y B Chavan College of Pharmacy, S B College, Shivchhatrapati College, VN Patil Law College, Vivekanand College, Deogiri College, Milind College, I B P Mahila College, and Government College of Arts and Science.
