India Aiming to Achieve ‘Developed’ Status by 2047, Says PM Modi
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India will emerge as a “developed” nation by 2047, the 100th year of India’s independence, with the efforts of every single individual. Speaking at the inauguration of the Madhusudan Sai Medical Sciences and Research Institute of Satya Sai Ashram in Chikkaballapur, Modi addressed the crowd and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in achieving this goal.
PM Modi acknowledged that people often wonder how India will progress to become a developed nation within such a short period. The answer, he said, is “sab ka prayason se” or with the efforts of all. The government is encouraging collective efforts, and the role of social and religious institutions in this regard is also important, Modi added.
He mentioned that when BJP took over, there were less than 380 medical colleges in the country. Since then, the number has increased to 650, with 40 of them located in aspirational districts. Moreover, the number of medical seats has increased considerably in the country. Modi expressed his pleasure in noting that the number of doctors who passed out in 75 years would now graduate in just 10 years.
PM Modi went on to explain that the BJP government is committed to uplifting the poor. The BJP is providing them with medicines at a cheaper price through Pradhan Mantri Janaushad outlets. Additionally, the government has made arrangements to provide free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to ensure that the poor do not shy away from visiting hospitals.
He also emphasized the importance of language and its role in the education sector. The previous governments were engaged in enacting games over languages, with no step taken to ensure medical and engineering education in Kannada language, he said. However, now provision has been made to pursue medical education in all Indian languages, including Kannada.
In conclusion, PM Modi reiterated that India’s dream of becoming a developed nation by 2047 will turn into reality with the hard work of every single individual of the country. The government is committed to encouraging collective efforts and uplifting the poor. Moreover, the role of social and religious institutions in this regard is crucial.
