Falz Criticizes Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Re-Election: Nigerians React
Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, a popular Nigerian rapper, has criticized the re-election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos state. Falz took to Twitter to express his opinion, stating that the Governor did not win the election, but rather selected himself. He added that the situation was witnessed by all and that the Governor was only deceiving himself.
Falz’s tweet sparked a reaction from Nigerians, with many expressing support for the rapper. Sheyi Shayo, for instance, applauded Falz, saying that his boldness and honesty make her proud of her Yoruba heritage. However, Peter Akin had a different opinion, telling Falz to go back to his father, a legal luminary, and learn that Lagos is not a no man’s land.
Another Nigerian, Ayanleke Saheed, congratulated the Governor and advised Falz to go to court if he was unhappy with the election outcome, adding that his father’s profession as a lawyer could be of help. Emmanuel Adeshina gave Falz the same advice and told him to go to court.
Kenny Chidebere, on the other hand, described the election in Lagos as madness and blamed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the situation. Ayoka Pelumi shared a similar sentiment and said that Nigerians were not ready to free themselves from those who had held them down.
Meanwhile, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo state, expressed sadness over the death of former Lagos state Governor, Pa Lateef Kayode Jakande, describing him as a great and exemplary leader. Governor Makinde sent a condolence message to the Lagos state government and the Jakande family.
