A picture taken on Jan. 27, 2019 shows the French President’s Dassault Falcon 7X plane arriving on the tarmac at Abu Simbel Airport, south of Aswan in Upper Egypt.

However, instead of focusing on the flight routes, the new jet tracker checks the CO2 emissions of their luxurious flights.

Akash Shendure, a 17-year-old Seattle resident, was the one behind the new website called Climate Jets. He explained that his website uses Jack Sweeney’s Ground Control Registration Database to track wealthy individuals.

A Dassault Falcon 8X flies June 12, 2015 during flight display preparations three days before the opening of the International Paris Airshow at Le Bourget. Airbus said on June 10 its A400M will take part in the flight display at the Paris Air Show next week.

He was able to get the data he needed after telling the company he would use it for academic purposes. “They sent it to me, which was really nice of them,” Shendure said.

Thankfully, the tech-savvy boy wasn’t billed for the requested data. At press time, Akash is believed to be the youngest person to make billionaire private jet spending publicly available.

Its website is quite easy to use. All you have to do is search for Climate Jets. Once there, you’ll see a long list of billionaires and their private jets’ CO2 emissions.

Clicking on each one of them reveals more specific details such as: B. Flights operated, type of kerosene used, CO2 emissions, etc.

Billionaires on the top list

Climate Jets list shows the following billionaires whose private jets emit the most carbon:

  • Thomas Siebel (more than 4,600 tons per year)
  • Murdoch Family (more than 4,300 tons per year)
  • DeVos family (more than 4,100 tons per year)
  • Sam Zell (more than 4,000 tons per year)
  • Jared Isaacman (more than 3,800 tons per year)

Of course, many will wonder how high the CO2 emissions of Elon Musk’s private jet are.

Compared to the billionaires mentioned above, the Tesla CEO is in the middle of the pack, as the annual CO2 emissions of his private jets are only around 1,700 tons.
