Mark Zuckerberg Following in Elon’s footsteps… Pay to get meta verified!!! 1

Mark Zuckerberg go the way Elon Musk — and by that we mean he’s rolling out a similar subscription plan that allows people to be official and legitimate on his platforms.

The meta honcho announced a new verification program that the social media company will roll out soon. He writes: “Good morning and new product announcement: This week we begin the launch of Meta Verified – a subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, and get additional identity theft protection against account claims you can give yourself to.” and get direct access to customer support.”

MZ adds: “This new feature is all about increasing the authenticity and security of our services. Meta Verified starts at $11.99/mo on web or $14.99/mo on iOS. We’re launching in Australia and New Zealand this week and more countries soon.”

For those worried that Facebook/Instagram would fall into the same problem that Twitter has suffered since the launch of Twitter Blue – i.e. fake accounts and impersonators – Meta says they’ve already taken that into account… and will actively take action against scammers and pranksters.

For starters, they say they will get people to submit government ID cards to match against their own profile before handing out blue ticks to the normies. Meta also says they will be actively looking for BS accounts that might show up.

As for all public figures who have been previously verified… Mark and co. say they will leave them with their already established verified status – unlike Elon who says he will keep old blue ticks (regardless of who they are) will be phased out and people will pay $8.

By the way, Elon has already gotten wind of this news and seems to be rolling his eyes. In response, he simply replied… “Inevitable” and also responded to some memes about it.
