Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James walked out of the NBA All-Star Game Sunday night with a bruised right hand, the league said.
While the All-Star Game is great for fans to see the best of the best take to the court together, there’s always a chance that an athlete will get injured.
It seemed like a normal play, with the Toronto Raptors’ Pascal Siakam, playing for team Giannis Antetokounmpo, about to make an undisputed layup – something that usually happens in this exhibition game.
However, James tried to sneak up from behind and blocked him against the backboard. James’ hand got caught in the rim on the way up, apparently causing the bruise.

Precautionary or not, James, who leads his squad against Antetokounmpo, will sit out the rest of the half.
Antetokounmpo is also injured as he struggles with a wrist condition. He adjusted to play about 30 seconds of the game, plugging in a simple dunk before looking the rest of the way.
Antetokounmpo did so with his Milwaukee Bucks in mind for the second half of the season.

While we don’t know if this is just a precautionary measure for James, the Lakers must be a little stressed that their star player suffered some form of injury.
