Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk tore into the Department of Defense on Sunday after he tweeted that “diversity is a strategic imperative.”
The DOD tweeted Saturday, “Diversity is a strategic imperative critical to mission readiness and accomplishment. We were there for the 2023 inauguration [Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion] Summit as DEIA experts led forums to advance the DEIA and DoD mission – because our people matter.
Musk replied, “Your strategic imperative is to defend the United States.”

The summit, according to a previous tweet, took place from February 15-17 and featured “distinguished presenters, renowned experts from government, higher education, business, science and technology.”

This isn’t the first time Musk has gone after the Pentagon, but it’s the first time he’s taken aim at Pentagon awakening Biden.
House Republicans aim to eliminate expensive DEI positions and programs at DOD.
Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), a Navy reservist and chairman of the House Armed Services Military Personnel Subcommittee, tweeted in response to the DOD tweet:

Banks launched the Anti-Woke Caucus, aimed at defunding DOD awakening. He recently wrote in American Mind:
House Republicans are demanding a no-fund revival in the Department of Defense and in our education system. Awakening is particularly prevalent and dangerous in universities and elementary schools because the left has recognized students as the most vulnerable and useful targets for indoctrination. The left also pushed for the awakening of the army. One must ask what the left wants to do with an anti-American army? For generations Americans never had to think of the Founders’ warnings of the dangers to civil government of a standing army. It became an immediate question.
And earlier this year, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) proposed a bill to eliminate the Pentagon’s director of diversity and senior diversity and inclusion adviser, or any similar position in the Pentagon. DOD, as Breitbart News first reported.
The Biden administration has taken a number of steps to promote the DEI, rooted in Marxism, at the DOD.
Early on, the administration created the DOD’s first Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Diversity and Inclusion, and created a “counter-extremism task force” that aimed to root out “extremism.” at DOD. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also ordered a force-wide day-off for all units to discuss “extremism”.
After a year of study, the task force found less than 100 instances of extremism in a force of 2.1 million.
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which was created during the Obama administration, has a budget of $6 million for 2023.
