FSU Elections Halted at 13 Campuses
Voting is taking place in all campuses in the Kathmandu Valley, but the election process has been stopped at 13 out of the 62 campuses across the country. Disputes between student organizations caused the election process to be halted at some campuses in the valley and some campuses outside the valley. The election process was stopped at RR Campus, Amrit Science Campus, Patan Multiple Campus, Nepal Commerce Campus, and Bishwa Bhasa Campus in the valley. In Pokhara, the Prithvi Narayan Campus, Paschimanchal Engineering Campus, Pokhara Multiple Campus, and Pokhara Nursing Campus have stopped the election process. The Thakuram Multiple Campus Birgunj, Birendra Multipurpose Campus Chitwan, Dhawalagiri Multiple Campus Baglung, and Siddhanath Science Campus, which have the largest number of students, have also stopped the election process. The election at Nepal Commerce Campus was stopped at the last minute, while the election at Trichandra Campus is scheduled for March 23.
FSU elections, which are held every two years, have not been held regularly since 2009. Although FSU elections were held in March 2017, they were not held on all campuses. The remaining campuses started their FSU elections at 8:00 AM today and will continue until 4:00 PM.
