Tottenham fan posts heartwarming ‘legend’ message on phone screen for Heung-min Son as striker pays touching tribute on Antonio Conte’s absence

Antonio Conte may not be the happiest with Heung-min Son, having dropped him for Tottenham’s win over West Ham, but his army of fans will always love him.

Son lost his place in the Spurs line-up for the London derby, making way for Richarlison, who failed to impress.

He then replaced the record £60million signing in the 68th minute, and four minutes later had the ball in the back of the net.

The South Korean star sent a message to his manager Conte, who was back home after gallbladder surgery, but he also received his own message.

Fans with Korean flags in a section of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium crowd waved happily after watching Son score in the 2-0 win, while a quick-thinking cameraman caught one holding his phone.

The fan had a ticker message scrolling across his phone screen, adorned with digital fireworks.

He read: “SON!!! You are already a Tottenham legend!!!”

Speaking after the match, Son said: “It’s normal that you don’t want to sit on the bench.

“I think it’s a decision you have to expect and also football can change from the bench, when I’m on the bench I’m not happy but if I come and try to do my best and d help the team.”

Not just on the pitch, but off the pitch, Son sent a message to Conte, who returned home for some extra rest after returning too quickly from surgery.

“If he’s not here, I think it’s really, really sad,” he said. “Sometimes we forget that football is not the most important thing, healthy human being and family are the most important things.

“We hope the gaffer comes as soon as possible and the coaching staff did an amazing job and gave us very good confidence.”
