Backup rock band Paramore lately excepted their 6th brochure, Upcoming Laughter, nearest a four-year hiatus. The brochure’s pitch is a retirement from the band’s earlier paintings, and in keeping with supremacy singer Hayley Williams, it was once an onerous procedure to manufacture it. “The impression that Paramore-slash-I has given in the past,” says singer Hayley Williams, “is very bubbly and colorful – and that’s not really who I am.”
Williams co-founded her band, Paramore, nearly two decades ago. Now 34, she has become a dominant figure in pop-punk culture both within the band and in her own right through solo albums, collaborations and the charismatic, ever-present heart on her sleeve.
Today, Paramore releases its sixth album, That is why. Williams joined morning edition to talk about his busy backstory, including his struggles with mental health and the male gaze, and the complicated return of the song “Misery Business” to Paramore’s live shows.
