According to Luminate, the song jumped 5% to 85.2 million airplay audience impressions on XO/Republic Records during the January 27-February 2 tracking week. The song rose to #1 thanks to massive TikTok usage over the past few months, leading to Republic officially promoting the song on radio.
Earlier this month, it was announced that The Weeknd’s Live at SoFi Stadium The concert special arrives February 25 on HBO Max.
The star posted the concert special’s poster to his social media, which featured his masked personality holding a microphone in one hand and raising the other against the blood orange backdrop.
He was originally scheduled to perform back-to-back dates at the Inglewood venue for his After Hours Til Dawn tour in September, but The Weeknd canceled his second show early in his set after losing his voice. The “Sacrifice” singer then moved the shortened show to November and added a second date at SoFi Stadium over Thanksgiving weekend.
The Weeknd’s Final Music TV Special, The Weeknd x The Dawn FM experience, arrived on Amazon Prime Video in February 2022, which served as the theatrical extension of his last studio album Twilight FM which topped the charts worldwide. Twilight FM follows his critically acclaimed fourth LP After hours, which debuted and stayed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for four straight weeks.
The upcoming series the idol, which stars The Weeknd and co-writes with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, follows a pop singer who sparks a romance with an enigmatic LA club owner who also serves as the leader of a secret cult. The show, starring Lily-Rose Depp, also stars Troye Sivan, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Mike Dean and more.
