Mendy runs up the left, the full-back takes 70 yards after winning the ball but loses it at United’s 18 yard line and they break in at lightning speed, forcing the ball back into the Wrexham penalty box where Sharp just fails just about to thread it through to Ndiaye.

Bramall Lane gives us the greasy chip butty as Sheffield United comes on, attacking right to left, kicking towards the far end but getting stuck in jams and giving away a throw-in down Wrexham’s left.

Paul Heckingbottom on his five changes
It’s another difficult question. Both teams are second in the league so we have different priorities. We have to be a lot more up front, more aggressive. We know we have to defend our box but when we get the opportunity we have to take it. We will use the bench heavily. If we could have made more changes we would have due to the schedule we have ahead of us but we are light at the moment. It’s not about me disregarding the trophy.

Phil Parkinson on his seven changes
A few changes were forced by injuries and a cup-bound player. Freshness can be important. We have full respect for Sheffield United but we are here to take action against them. I think we can create opportunities against them. We’re at our best when we play like this. We’ll take it, enjoy the league break and give our 4,700 fans something to cheer about.

Preview: Just One Shot at a Giant Kill?
Good evening and welcome to the live broadcast of the fourth round of the FA Cup replay between Sheffield United and Wrexham after their thrilling 3-3 draw at the racecourse. One of the big FA Cup issues is that the lower leagues and especially non-league sides stand a chance of killing giants. If the higher-tier side manage to find their way back to level – as John Egan’s 95th-minute equalizer did for the Blades – then the replay will generally go his way, as Wrexham knows only too well after beating Championship Brighton in the held third round away in 2011-12 before losing the replay on penalties. In 2007–08 Conference South’s Havant & Waterlooville of sixth tier League One defeated Swansea 4–2 in a third round replay and earned a trip to Anfield in the fourth round. Tonight’s prize for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney or Dozy Mmobuosi, the prospective new owner of Sheffield United, is a home game against Spurs.
Wrexham’s 2-1 win over Altrincham on Saturday kept them second in the National League, three points behind but with two games in hand on leaders Notts County with 18 games to play. Phil Parkinson, whose promotion success was spearheaded by Paul Mullin and Olly Palmer’s 34 goals together, has challenged his players to show they deserve to play at Football League level, the status they have 13 years after their relegation so desperate to regain non-league.
“The trophy is just a bonus that helps raise the profile of the club and the players,” said Parkinson. “I think a lot of players have shown that they can live in this company and now the challenge for them is to show that they have the consistency to not just do it in one-off games. It’s a great opportunity to play in a great stadium and let’s test ourselves again.”
Sheffield United, second in the Championship and 10 points clear of the play-off places below them, is brimming with confidence, their resurgent manager Paul Heckingbottom told the Sheffield Star. “The whole dynamic will change for us,” he said. “It’s different now, very different.
“We knew what was coming over there and apart from a 15 minute break I thought we handled it really well. We have understood what we are dealing with. But the situation has changed now.
“We will go into this game with the same principles as we would go into a league game. We need them because we know what Wrexham will bring. They will come in numbers, but like I said, I think the feeling for us will be different now.”
