Saint Girons. Judo: Léa Claverie crowned regional champion 1

Léa Claverie and Théo Ribeiro, two judokas licensed at the Dojo du Couserans, were traveling to Mèze to participate in the regional championship. During this meeting, the best fighters from Occitania were present to try to win a qualification for the French championship.

Léa Claverie was the first to compete in the women’s under 36 kg category. Accustomed to major competitions, and already crowned with two titles of champion of France in chick and youngest in the sports leisure division FSGT, Léa now competes in minimal competitions in the upper division of the high level FFJDA. The Couseran fighter eliminated all her opponents by ippon, before the end of regulation time.

In the final, the young champion left no hope to her last opponent. The fight was once again quickly dispatched by an ippon before the end of regulation time.

By winning first place in the FFJDA regional championship, she won her ticket for the minimal French championship. And this new performance earned him to join the regional elite group, an interesting opportunity that opens the doors to training courses and high-level labeled competitions.

As for Théo Ribeiro, he managed to get out of the playoffs. In table he failed in the quarter-finals. Drafted, he made it to the final and finished third in the competition.
