Mario Vargas Llosa considers that the Peruvian left “has been completely distorted” with Pedro Castillo

“I think that with such a leader, the left has been completely distorted,” Vargas Llosa mentioned of Castillo Terrones.

“The right loses the media and ideological narrative for a very simple reason: Peruvians don’t know what favors them. In addition, he questions that the Peruvian right is content with the defense of the status quo. “There is an uncivil right, represented by small minorities. But the true right of our time chooses prosperity, the development of all citizens to carve out a future, which is what families want. The left, in its effort to repeat the already extinct models, is lost. They believe that by distributing the current wealth, the problems of underdevelopment will be solved. That is not the way. It is attracting investment and creating a favorable environment for trade, ”he says.

Vargas Llosa also referred to the president Dina Boluartewho has been in power for more than two months amid social protests that have left an unfortunate toll of 70 dead.

“The government of Dina Boluarte seems to me to have been established in accordance with the laws and the Constitution and that, in the next elections we have, Peruvians should vote better, since they have already had a vision of what can happen when they are elected. bad,” he said.

“There is no risk of fascism settling in Latin America. He left-wing fascism is the one that is advancing little by little in the countries around us with the complicity of that extreme left that is incorporating new sectors every day to its irresponsible strategy. With that left there is no hope of getting out of underdevelopment ”, he pointed out.

“It is true that Latin America he has opted for a pitiful left-wing position. There is no example to follow, because all the leftist regimes have failed in the world. Examples are not only in Europebut also in the Third World […] I believe that Latin America is going very badly on the path it has taken and that, if it advances and persists in this regard, great failures await it.
