Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy is one of the many familiar faces to make an appearance 80 for Brady.
And the athlete-turned-actor, starring in nine episodes of TV shows American Horror Story revealed in 2019 diversity‘s Mark Malkin for a story published Tuesday that a big scene of his that showed his character making out with his boyfriend didn’t make it into the final film.
“They said they had to cut it down for time,” Kenworthy said, “but I think they cut it down for Central America.”
Yahoo Entertainment has reached out to Paramount Pictures for comment.
Kenworthy said he and M3GAN‘s Brian Jordan Alvarez, who plays his love interest, tried his hand at the scene several times.
“They used the script for one take,” he said, “but then we did it about four or five times where we just insulted each other at will and then made out.”
He laughed as he said “some of them got raunchy,” and he’d love for the hilarious scene to be part of a director’s cut.
Aside from football comedy, Kenworthy has made an acting career full-time.
“I took a lot of classes and auditioned,” he said. “I’ve been writing and I have a few things in development. I am also working on a book with essays about my life and my different experiences. It suits the larger theme of being in the closet and coming out and persistent but told through short anecdotal stories. A bit like a David Sedaris-style book.”
Kenworthy also spoke at the weekend People that he would really like to star in a romantic comedy – his favorite type of film – while playing a gay character. (The athlete came out as gay in 2015.)
“I just think it’s such a great formula and I’d love to go into it and star in a rom-com, but to also play gay would be a dream,” he said.
