Today’s NHL rumors looks at every team in the Atlantic Division and their prospects a month ahead of the NHL trade deadline set for March 3.

NHL Rumors: Jonathan Toews to the Bruins?

Boston Bruins: As they continue to wreck the competition nightly, the Bruins still need to delve down the middle. They appear to be a perfect landing spot for Jonathan Toews if he agrees to waive his eligibility clause.

“We’ve been trying to get out of rental mode,” Bruins president Cam Neely told The Athletic. “When you’re giving up a lot of fortune for a player who’s on an expiring contract, you have to decide, ‘Okay, are we ready to do this?’”

buffalo saber: The team is ahead of schedule in the latest roster reshuffle. They could be in the mix for some mid-tier distributors or make a splash by taking on Timo Meier. Just keep an eye on the Sabers because they are a very fascinating team.

Detroit Red Wings: They will be sellers if the UFAs, like defender Olli Maatta, switch at the deadline. The big questions revolve around captain and upcoming UFA Dylan Larkin, although he is expected to re-sign. Tyler Bertuzzi is also heading towards UFA status and is more likely to be postponed.

Florida Panther: Flip a coin here. The team is fighting for a wildcard spot but could still choose to move players like Patric Hornqvist and possibly Anthony Duclair for the cap spot. If they add it will be for depth.

Montreal Canadiens: The Habs will be big sellers by deadline, with center Sean Monahan likely to give them a nice return.

Ottawa Senators: Ottawa says they won’t be making any major moves on a new deal for pending RFA Alex DeBrincat despite the lack of progress. The Sens have several outstanding UFAs like Tyler Motte and Travis Hamonic to move to deadline.

Tampa Bay Blitz: Back in the Stanley Cup chase, Tampa is sure to add at least a chunk of depth on defense. You are closely associated with Luke Schenn of the Vancouver Canucks.

Toronto Maple Leafs: It’s the Maple Leafs, so don’t worry, they’ll be making a move on Deadline. It is believed they want to add Ryan O’Reilly’s Stanley Cup experience to the playoffs.
