Less than two weeks before the pitchers and catchers report, anticipation for baseball’s return rose a notch today as MLB teams released their 2023 spring training caps. the Jays cap is here. It’s royal blue with a mesh back, blue and white logo on the front, and a 2023 Spring Training patch on the right side, and it’s available in both fitted and adjustable sizes. There are also customized gray and royal blue and white caps that players will also wear for on-pitch batting practice.

Remember, the World Baseball Classic returns on March 7th for the first time since 2017, so all pitchers and catchers attending the WBC will be in Dunedin early on February 13th. The rest of the pitchers and catchers, along with the position players playing in the WBC, will have their first full practice on February 16th, with the first official full squad practice on February 21st.
If you’re flying into Dunedin, the flight takes about three hours direct from Toronto, with Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing and Lynx Air all flying from Toronto Pearson to Tampa Bay. TD Ballpark, where the Jays play, is a 40-minute drive from Tampa International Airport and heads west along Florida State Road 60 toward the Gulf of Mexico.
The first spring training game is Saturday, February 25 in Bradenton, Florida against the Pittsburgh Pirates, about an hour’s drive south of Dunedin. The Jays home opener at TD Ballpark takes place the next day on Sunday against a split-squad Yankees team.
Regarding the Blue Jays players confirmed for the WBC in March, what we know so far is that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will play for the Dominican Republic along with Yimi Garcia, Alejandro Kirk will play for Mexico and starter José Berríos for Puerto Rico will play .
And opening day is in 52 days on March 30th in St. Louis against the Cardinals! Let’s go Blue Jays!
