Anyone who doubted Donovan Mitchell would do well with the Cleveland Cavaliers is surely feeling embarrassed these days.
Mitchell has not only played well in Cleveland since the start of the new season, he has played phenomenally.
He was on fire again Monday night, scoring 41 points against the San Antonio Spurs in another big win for the Cavs.
Donovan Mitchell got his 6th 40-point game of the season, the 5th in a season in Cavaliers history.

The performance was important not only because it marked a victory for the team.
On Monday, Mitchell earned his sixth 40-point game of the season, which is the fifth in a season in Cavaliers history.
In fact, the only player with more in a season for the Cavs is LeBron James, who actually holds the four highest ratings in team history.
Mitchell’s work in 2022-23 has been mind-blowing and worth every penny the Cavaliers spend.
The youngster was great when he played for the Utah Jazz, but that team never felt like real contenders, especially because they had such a tough time in the playoffs.
But everything about Mitchell’s game feels at home in Cleveland and the team has surged from the start.
They are currently the fourth seed in the East and are on track for their strongest playoff run in years.
There are worries about the injuries, the youth and the longevity of the team, but right now the fans are completely in love with this team.
And Mitchell is a big part of that.
In just a few months, he came to the team and became its focal point and leader.
Other athletes like Evan Mobley, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen are also playing great this year and that only makes the team more competitive.
Mitchell leads the way but the whole roster is there with him.
