Aquatic Flying Drone Stats

It is an amphibious drone that can both swim underwater and shoot in the sky and act as a quadcopter.

  • 3.6 pounds ballast
  • 6 minutes hover time
  • 6.5 feet per second underwater swimming speed
  • Works without human intervention artificial intelligence only
  • Developed by Chinese

The drone weighs only 3.6 pounds and can hover in the air for 6 minutes. When underwater, he can swim at a speed of 2 meters per second. Moreover, the dual air and underwater drone does not need a human to operate it.

Its operating system is entirely managed by artificial intelligence. Those controlling the AI system can give the drone a mission, and it will accomplish it autonomously without human intervention.

What can an amphibious flying drone be used for?

Drones can be useful for all sorts of reasons, and since this one can both fly and swim underwater, it’s safe to assume that it can be used for big missions.

Some missions for the technology could include aerial and water surveys, remote sensing, and search and rescue operations.

Professor Ben Chen from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and his colleagues will present a paper on their drone research at the IEEE 2023 International Conference on Robotics and Automation in London in May.

So until that happens, let’s see what other jobs the TJ-FlyingFish can be used for.

HERE’S THE PROOF THAT SOME AIRLINES ARE NOT FANS OF AIRTAG TRACKERS

The TJ-FlyingFish is a drone that has been designed to operate both underwater and in flight. The technology was developed by China's Shanghai Research Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems, Tongji University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong's Unmanned Systems Research Group.
