Washington commanders have many question marks heading into the 2023 offseason.

One of the biggest questions is which quarterback will start for the team next season.

With the recent hiring of Eric Bieniemy, many wondered what effect this would have on the situation.

However, a recent source confirmed to Pro Football Talk that Sam Howell will be the starting QB for 2023.

The reason is believed to be Eric Bieniemy’s “positive” feelings about the team’s roster and their young quarterback.

With him only having one start in 2022, the coaching staff sees something positive in Howell.

They clearly believe in the young quarterback, who had mixed results while playing college for the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Despite flaws in his game, they consider him their top pick for 2023.

While they still have Carson Wentz, the team seems ready to move on from their investment in him.

So that gives Commanders another potential season with a new starting quarterback.

With so many pre-post issues, COs are hoping Howell can be the answer they need when the NFL season begins again.
