Chelsea boss Graham Potter insists Mykhailo Mudryk has ‘no problem’ with Marc Cucurella, despite appearing to like and unlike the Instagram meme that slammed his team-mate after West Ham draw

Graham Potter says there is no problem in the Chelsea squad between Mykhailo Mudryk and Marc Cucurella.

Following the Blues’ 1-1 draw at West Ham, Mudryk seemed to like an Instagram meme criticizing his Spanish team-mate.

It depicts Cucurella ignoring the winger but being willing to love the rest of the squad, highlighting the lack of chemistry between the two.

At one point in the draw at West Ham, Mudryk made a good run down the left but Cucurella decided against playing the ball to him.

He continued to dislike the position, but questions were raised about their lack of teamwork.

Ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League clash at Borussia Dortmund, which is live on talkSPORT, Potter insisted there was no problem between the two players.

“Well, there’s no problem in terms of anything sinister,” Potter said.

“If anything, it’s just the teammates understanding each other, it’s a fairly common problem I would say. When to pass, when and at what time.

“By playing against the back five, West Ham is preventing you from accessing maybe the wide feet, and it’s just an understanding of when to play in space or how to run errands.

“I think it’s just that it’s Mudryk’s third game with us so there’s no problem, it’s more just a challenge of understanding which is quite easy to understand when you recognize the context in which we are.”

The Blues were frustrated at full time, especially after they felt they should have been awarded a late penalty following Tomas Soucek’s handball.

Chelsea’s silverware chances this season now depend on their progress in the Champions League.

Potter’s side are 20 points clear of Premier League leaders Arsenal and are barred from the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
