"Catching Bad Language: A Look at Alex Buque's F-Bomb Dropping Post-Game Interview" 1

Alex Buque: Living Up To His Motto of “Keep the Censorship Button Close!”

There is a significant history of swearing or profane gestures being broadcast by athletes or coaches, whether from miked athletes, field cameras and mics, hot mics, press conferences, other interviews, in-studio commentary, in-game commentary, or in passing job interviews. The latter category provided the most recent example of this, when Saskatchewan Rush goaltender Alex Buque posted an F -dropped the bomb. But TSN was well prepared with a beep button and a “Have the censor button ready!” Commentary by announcer Brad Challoner:

Around 0:21, Chand asks Buque, “I know you’re a team guy, so how good are the guys in the backend?” Buque replies with an “Oh, they’re bloody pumped” (it seems; the beep button catches a bit of the next word). Then, after another confidence question, Chand throws her back at Challoner and analyst Teddy Jenner, and Challoner says, “There’s nothing like a post-game interview with Alex Buque. Keep the censorship button nearby!” TSN certainly did it here, and it paid off for them.

While we haven’t been able to find any other videos of Buque cursing in post-game interviews, we have found some other cool videos of him from his impressive NLL career since 2014. Here’s him flattening an opponent in 2016:

And here are some of his dance moves from last month:

Buque definitely seems worth keeping a camera on. Even if sometimes a censor button is needed.
