She was a beloved member of the community and had many friends from her places of employment, including her most recent job at Merillat Cabinets in Adrian, Michigan. Cheri was a devoted member of Rollin Friends Church, where she had been a member for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle with her husband. The Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison, Michigan, is entrusted with the arrangements for her memorial service, which will be held at Rollin Friends Church on March 22, 2023. Burial of her ashes will take place at Green’s Lakeside Cemetery, Manitou Beach, Michigan, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Rollin Friends Church.

Cheri Norton, a beloved member of the Addison, Michigan community, passed away on March 17, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born on October 31, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Edward R. and Betty G. (Mason) Schilling. She married Roderick G. Norton on September 10, 1966, in Jackson, Michigan, and they had one son, Roderick G. Norton, who survives her.
Cheri was a graduate of Jackson Northwest High School and had lived in the Addison area for 50 years. She was well-known in the community, having acquired many friends over the years from her places of employment. Her most recent employer was Merillat Cabinets in Adrian, Michigan, where she was a cabinet maker. Cheri loved working in her flower garden and around the house. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and she also loved riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle with her husband.
Cheri was a devoted member of Rollin Friends Church, where she had been a member for 30 years. Her faith was an essential part of her life, and she loved the Lord. Surviving besides her husband Rod, is one son, Roderick G. (Connie) Norton of Rockwood, Michigan, two nieces, Stephanie (Randy) Pipkins of Woodstock Township, Michigan, Amanda Norton of Addison, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Ed Schilling of Cadillac, Michigan, two sisters, Sandy (Ray) Walker of Battle Creek, Michigan, Karen Rodgers of Manitou Beach, Michigan, many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Indiana and Michigan.
Cheri was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John Schilling, Ron Schilling, and her daughter, Tamara. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Rollin Friends Church, Addison, Michigan, with Pastor Ken Nichols officiating. Burial of her ashes will take place at Green’s Lakeside Cemetery, Manitou Beach, Michigan, at a later date.
